Eluethera

Eluethera

With endless pineapple fields, secluded coves and miles of coastlines, Eleuthera is equally as alluring as the many other islands of the Bahamas. Eleuthera, which means “freedom” in Greek, is 110 miles long and 1 mile wide. The island was first occupied by European settlers - puritan pilgrims - who arrived there in 1648 from Bermuda. These settlers gave the island its present name Eleuthera. Its diverse natural scenery attracts even the most discerning travellers from across the world. From the pink sand beaches of North Eleuthera to the high cliffs that fringe the eastern side of this island, you could spend weeks on this opulent island and still have treasures to uncover.

Eleuthera is an island of rocky bluffs, low-lying wetlands, lush tropical greenery, and massive coral reefs that create stunning backdrops. It is rich with historical landmarks and natural attractions. One of its most popular attractions is Glass Window Bridge – a naturally formed bridge of rock located on the Northern end of the Eleuthera Island. If you want to just relax on the beach, head out to Surfer’s Beach – it has one of the best sugary soft white sands in the Bahamas. James Cistern Beach is a great surfing and snorkeling site at this island. The Ocean Hole, situated on the south edge of Rock Sound in Eleuthera, is a great spot for diving. Lighthouse Beach is a hidden gem on this tropical island – it is the only secluded blush rose sand beach in the Bahamas.

The unspoiled powdery sandy beaches, several hidden wonders and great water sporting destinations make exploring Eleuthera an unforgettable yacht charter vacation for you and your loved ones.
